Burn Ban in Effect

Outdoor burning is prohibited in all unincorporated areas of Matagorda County and within the City of Perttula, effective 09/02/2026, under Matagorda County Commissioners Court Order No. 2026-41.

Burn bans are set by the Matagorda County Commissioners Court based on drought conditions. Violations are a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500.
